Current Openings For Fresher in Mumbai 2009

When I passed out my Engineering in Computers, finding a good opening was a problem. My college was new and we were the first batch to represent our college. Due to which no campus was organized for us. This had hit us badly in terms of searching job. The reference and referral program was the only way to get to good organization. I was in ‘Vidyalankar Institute of technologies’ in ‘Wadala’. This college is known for its coaching class. I got a good and decent percentage to get any job. I got number of calls but was not able to convert to job offers. The reason behind was not able to crack aptitude and technical round of test. Here I would like to help my fellow engineer students to be proactive in their approach and attitude. Remember always each day after engineering is important, don’t ever waste single day. Because it is truly said, Delay is dangerous and Procrastination is thief of time. Why I am saying this is what experience I inherited. Anyways I was up to making use of your time.

Step 1

So start preparing for aptitude in full force as this preparation will not only help you in CAD/GRE/CET exams but also help you to crack that tough software company’s aptitude test. For this I suggest you to look for RS-Agarwal and puzzle books from Shakuntala Devi. Try getting as much exposure to data interpretation, mathematics and analytical reasoning. These areas are of utmost importance. You need to understand the credibility of each section. If you well versed this you win half the battle.

"It’s not always that stronger will win,
Weaker will lost, its only during course of time who thinks one can, one wins"

Step 2

This step should be followed in parallel with step 1. You need to create most presentable, acceptable, simple, clean and crisp resume of yours. This is one of the stepping stone to get calls for interview provided your academic profile is strong. Otherwise you fight tooth and nails getting interview calls. For this, check with your friends and experience people around you to provide you the template. Having lengthy or fancy resume is not a correct approach to get interview calls. One should remember your profile should match the requirement of companies you apply for. Your resume should be such that your profile should be clearly indicative and prominent.

Step 3

Once your resume is prepared, look for good online jobs site. There are many job portals like Timesjob , Jobs ahead, Naukri, Monster, Shine etc. I suggest go for all. It is always good to have multiple options. So post your resume in these sites. Definitely you will get lot of openings.

Step 4
Go and look for job consultant/placement for wider option. There are many corporate that have actually outsourced their requirement to these consultants /placement firm. The one I remember is Sampoorna. It is one of the renowned consultants in Mumbai. They have good client like IBM. Also I remember Team Lease they have client like Reliance communications Ltd. They have strong foothold in Bangalore and Mumbai. Today having contacts with good consultancy firm is important and essential. So go ahead keep constant contacts with these consultants.

Step 5

Go out and meet people who are currently working in good corporate offices around. As there is a referral program in corporate world. These people will help in getting you place in their companies as they too are eligible to get referral bonus. As likely said, everyone out here works for themselves nobody is here to help you out. It is you who can make difference.

Step 6

Last but not the least is to search jobs through Google search. Trust me you will get the best options available. The Google search engine is awesome and remarkably outstanding. This is the only place which we will give output results like anything; you will find the search results out of the way. Trust me this experience, provided one knows the tips to make a search Online.

Step 7

All you need to search the website of companies and also post your resume online from their career section. This will give you the edge over the others. Also make a list of companies around you and apply to these companies time to time. Sometimes social networking will help you to get decent openings. So join fresher group in orkut, facebook, yahoo, google etc.
